  12. IMPORTANT:  If you are new to PSX please read PSX.TXT. It
  13.             contains the information included in this file.

  17. Speedier Font Selections:
  18.  
  19. Soft fonts are now sorted in ascending order and PSX also
  20. includes support for PageUp/PageDown, Home, and End keys when in
  21. a font selection submenu.  In addition, you may press the first
  22. letter of the font's filename to locate the file.  For example,
  23. to find GLR_____.PFB press "G" and PSX will place the selection
  24. bar on the file.  Pressing "G" again will highlight the next file
  25. starting with the letter "G".

  28. Batch Downloads:
  29.  
  30. PSX now supports batch downloads.  When you are in a "Select Font
  31. & Download" submenu, press the "Space Bar" to mark/unmark fonts
  32. for downloading.  Pressing "Enter" downloads your selections.

  35. Abort Download:

  37. The F10 key can also be used to Abort a soft font download.  PSX
  38. will ask you for confirmation.

  41. Change Delay (Printer Control & Utilities):
  42.  
  43. You'll probably never have to adjust this but I thought I should
  44. make this feature available, just in case.  Because PSX now
  45. supports batch downloads I added a feature that allows you to
  46. specify a delay of a few seconds between each download.  You only
  47. need to adjust this if your printer seems uncomfortable during
  48. batch downloading.  You may try different values of 2 seconds up
  49. to 10 seconds (which I'm sure you'll never need).  When you
  50. specify a delay, PSX will display: "Waiting... ", and pause for
  51. the selected amount of delay.  To check your current delay
  52. setting, go to the Change Delay submenu.  The delay you specified
  53. will be highlighted.  The delay will be saved in PSX.CFG next
  54. time you select Save Configuration & Exit.

  57. Using PSX as a Command Line Downloader:
  58.  
  59. New in this version of PSX, is the ability to use it as a command
  60. line downloader.  This feature is useful if you only have a
  61. couple of fonts to download and you'd like to bypass the PSX Menu
  62. interface.  The syntax is very simple, at the DOS prompt type:
  63.  
  64.                     PSX FONTFILE.EXT OUTPUT
  65.  
  66. FONTFILE.EXT is the font's filename which should include the
  67. drive and directory if different from the drive and directory PSX
  68. was started from.
  69.  
  70. OUTPUT can be LPT1, LPT2, LPT3 or any legal filename.  Do not
  71. include a colon ":" after LPT1, LPT2, or LPT3 because PSX will
  72. reject your Output selection.  When downloading to a file you may
  73. also specify a drive and directory.

  75. You don't need to specify the type of font you wish to download. 
  76. PSX will figure it out for you.

  80. To download GLBI___.PFB to LPT1, issue the command:

  82.           PSX GLBI___.PFB LPT1

  84. To download CQCFO.PSF to a file called FONT1.PRN, issue the
  85. command:

  89. The optional /B switch is not supported, nor is it needed for
  90. command line downloads.  If you use it, PSX will start in regular
  91. mode.
